“Education That Grows Beyond the Classroom”
At White Sands Bilingual College, farming is more than just planting crops – it is part of our learning, discipline, and community life. The Farming Committee plays a vital role in teaching students the value of hard work, responsibility, and caring for the land that sustains us.
Our school gardens and farms provide students with hands-on skills in agriculture, helping them to understand food production, environmental care, and the importance of working together. The harvest supports our boarding program by contributing fresh produce for meals, making farming a practical and rewarding part of school life.
The committee also encourages innovation and sustainability by introducing new farming methods, sharing traditional knowledge, and inspiring students to see agriculture as an important part of Vanuatu’s future.
Through farming, we teach our students that education is not only found in books, but also in the soil, the gardens, and the community around them. Together, we are growing knowledge, faith, and responsibility.
